Mike presented the 2014 budget detailing expenses for weed treatment, carp management and general expenses. Residents unanimously approved it by show of hands, Dave made a motion to approve it with Tom seconding. Motion passed.

Melissa provided an update on the lake and the aquatic plant life. She also provided an overview on why the CLID was granted a variance by the DNR for treating 400 acres this year. Melissa also announced that Scott County was paying to have a professor from Winona electrofish for carp later this year to try and get an estimate of the carp population in the lake.

Tom provided an overview of the 2014 curly leaf pondweed treatment plan which is to spray 400 acres. The areas being treated are 100 acres in the east bay, 100 acres on the south end of the lake, and the adjoining 200 acres to the north of the south area. Each area is treated over three years per the DNR-approved plan.

Mike provided a carp update and advised that there was no seining this fall/winter due to an inability to find any large groups of carp pooling via sonar.

Brad advised that the Carp Kabob Tournament would be held May 17-18 with June 6-7 as back-up dates if poor weather. He also advised we were increasing to 10 boats this year versus 8 boats in 2013.

Marie provided a website usage update and advised that there were 10,040 page views since its inception of October 1, 2012. She also reviewed the process whereby residents can sign up to receive an email showing updates to the website by utilizing the last box listed on the left side of the Home page.

Tom reviewed the CLID's goal to have a lake ice clean-up day next spring at the end of the ice fishing season. He also reviewed the mid-summer festival plans that Three Rivers Park has scheduled at Cedar Lake Farm for Saturday, July 19, 2014.

After many years of service to the CLID, Tom Heid retired from the board officially at the annual meeting. Gary Morrison was nominated and elected as a new board member with Marie Jaeger taking over as Chairperson. This goes into effect April 22.

A copy of the meeting presentation is available to any CLID property owner by request to the email box located on the CLID website.
