Cedar Lake Improvement District meeting notes from November 10, 2015 from 6:30 – 8 pm at the New Prague Public Library
Attendees: Marie Jaeger, Brad Eller, Dave Nielsen, Jon Nordrum and Theresa Juhl

Marie brought the meeting to order, Dave made a motion to accept October’s minutes, Theresa seconded.
Dave reviewed income and expenses for October and provided bank statements for the board’s records. A copy was given to Theresa for filing with board records. There was no activities other than interest earned.
Dave mentioned that he has sent an email to Melissa requesting reimbursement for the Carp Kabob for 2014 and 2015.
Marie reviewed the chemical treatment’s actual/projected expenses versus the budget plan to address the concerns about the cut back of funding by the DNR in 2016. The CLID has the funds available for completion of the 10-year plan in partnership with equal funds from SWMO.
Jon reported that he is still waiting for a call back from Cedar Lake Area Water & Sewer regarding the septic update to confirm all lakeside residences are on city sewer.
Theresa reported that she will be purchasing a filing cabinet for CLID historical and current documents that was listed on Craig’s List and will then evaluate what is needed for file folders etc.
Marie brought the information that Sam had to report regarding porta potties due to his absence. The CLID will need a special use permit from the insurance and the cost of the units will be $115 for each unit per month which will include winter chemicals and one cleaning per week. Dave made a motion to rent 2 portable toilets, one for each access for a one-month trial period, provided it was confirmed that the provider was responsible for:
- damage or any items dumped in the toilet
- tipping or being blown over by wind and elements
- any person injured
- renting can be done on a month-to-month basis
There were 4 members in favor of the motion and 1 opposed; the motion passed and Theresa seconded.
Marie gave an update on the carp radio-tagging process she witnessed at Spring Lake on November 2. There were a total of 30 carp tagged between Spring Lake and Prior Lake for a three-year study. The SWMO proposal for a similar project on Cedar Lake was delayed until 2016.
The next board meeting will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2015 at the New Prague Library from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
